I've gotten a few questions about the Employee Permit Number to enter on the application.

Below are the appropriate Employee Permit Numbers for each facility.
HH Main        130095
HH W&C       180120
HH Madison  180177

Subject: Alabama Board of Pharmacy Parenteral Certification Update

Good Morning All,

Rebecca Tindle is now serving as the pharmacist licensing manager for the Alabama Board of Pharmacy.

She has informed Donna and myself that the Alabama Board of Pharmacy has updated their process for initial parenteral certification and renewal of parenteral certification.

From this year forward, any pharmacist who wishes to obtain parenteral certification with ALBOP must complete the attached parenteral certification application.

Pharmacists should email the completed application along with proof of training to Rebecca Tindle at rtindle@albop.com.

Donna has sent letters of training completion that will qualify as proof of initial training, but Rebecca will also need the attached application completed for any pharmacist who has completed initial PSP training this year.

Certifications may also be viewed online using the "search for a license feature", and a verification form may be printed from this screen as well.

If you do not see "Parenteral" under your certifications, you will need to go ahead and submit the attached application.

If you do see "Parenteral" under your certifications, ALBOP has your Parenteral certification on file already, so you do not have to submit the attached application.

ALBOP has also decided that they will not be mailing out separate parenteral certificates any longer.

Instead, certifications will now be printed on the pharmacist’s physical license.

Certifications will now expire every two years in alignment with the pharmacist license.

ALBOP encourages each pharmacist who completed initial PSP training this year to go ahead and submit their application to Rebecca prior to renewing their pharmacist license this Fall (if you do not already have an active Parenteral certification).

When you go to renew, you will have the option to renew each of your certifications as well.

Please reach out to Donna or myself if you have any questions about this new process.
