Subject: Dextrose 50% 25 g/50 mL Syringe Backorder - **UPDATE 8/23/22**

Once again, we have nearly exhausted our supply of boxed dextrose 50% 25 g/50 mL prefilled syringes.

Pyxis - HH Main Only
  • ALL boxed dextrose syringes will be removed from Main Pyxis devices and the Main carousel. These will be sequestered in the Kit Check area for use in PEDs code trays and RPh code bags.
  • PSP prepared REFRIGERATED dextrose 50% 25 g/50 mL syringes will be loaded in high-use areas only (EDPOD A & D, 4MST 1 & 2, 6NE, 6NW).
  • All other areas at HH Main will need to obtain dextrose syringes directly from PSP as needed.

ADULT CODE TRAYS - HH Main and HHWC
  • Dextrose 50% 25 g/50 mL syringes will be replaced with dextrose 10% 250 mL bags labeled to indicate that they are equivalent to a dextrose 50 % 25 g/50 mL syringe. (we have already been doing this)

Pharmacist Code Bags - No changes at this time. Each bag will still contain 1 boxed dextrose syringe.
Let me know if you have any questions.
