Subject: Amiodarone: 1Chart Ordering Changes Effective Today

Due to ongoing backorder of Amiodarone 360 mg/200 mL PREMIX Product, effective today, HH Main will be transitioning to the use of a 450 mg/250 mL PREMIX product. 

 

However, this change necessitated a modification to remove the ‘intermittent’ order currently used for the Loading Dose of Amiodarone for all facilities.  Therefore, the ‘loading dose’ information has been included as a comment on a “Load and Maintenance” continuous order that has been added to appropriate Powerplans.  A separate ‘Maintenance’ continuous IV Set is also available/added to appropriate plans which does not include the initial 1 mg/min x 6 hr load comments.

 

These changes are now live in Production.
