Subject: Re: Keppra Slow IV Push in 8NE

Good morning.

The Keppra IV push trial period has come to an end. We will be resuming our normal verification process of the Keppra IVPB products for maintenance doses in 8NE. The hospitalist, neurosurgery, and neurology groups have been informed that we will no longer be automatically converting their doses to IV push. The IV push order sentence within Cerner remains active for once doses of both Keppra 1,000 mg and 2,000 mg. This is intended for acute seizure treatment which Nellie previously emailed everyone about back in the summer.

Please let me know if you have any questions or problems as we transition back to the standard IVPB administration method.

Thanks!
