Subject: Vitamin D (cholecalciferol) dosing unit change

Multum has changed the standard dosing units for cholecalciferol from units to mcg. The products and order sentences in Cerner have been updated to reflect this change. However, there may be situations where the home dose is documented in units. If so, the med will be unresolved in Medmanager. When resolving the order, please be sure to use "mcg" or "caps"/"tabs" as the dosing unit. Otherwise, the nurse will not be able to chart the medication appropriately.
