Update - last night all surgical patients were moved off of 5MST.
All beds on 5MST have been converted to negative pressure.
5MST will be a designated Covid unit at this time.

Subject: Covid precautions
Everyone is aware that we are very busy caring for Covid patients again. The Delta variant is highly contagious and a spreader event is even more possible.
Hospital leadership has reported outbreaks that can be attributed to break rooms in two different departments. To ensure that we all stay safe and available to care for our patients…
- Maintain distance, especially when masks are off while eating.
- Wear masks at all times. Unless eating or completely alone in an office, wear your mask.
- Avoid in-person meetings whenever possible. Zoom works for most situations.
Please be smart at work and away from work. There are no mandates in Alabama at this time, but please use good judgement when assessing situations.
