Subject: Reprinting labels

Hey everyone,

There has recently been some confusion about the best way to reprint labels.

Pharmacy IT has clarified that we should always select 'EXTRA DOSE' because the Cerner label will NOT be scannable at the beside if a ‘REPRINT’ is selected.  The barcode value on a REPRINT label is “T0” and would not scan correctly.

Cerner actually will default to ‘Extra Dose' when you select 'label' in the action column of Med Manager.

In terms of charging, a patient is only charged on BULK items when an ‘EXTRA DOSE’ is printed. All other charging occurs at the time of charting the administration.

I hope this clears up any confusion there may have been with the process. Please let me know if there are any further questions!
