Subject: HH-Main Ortho PACU COVID Dialysis Unit
Hey guys,
Ortho PACU (HOTP/I/R) will now be utilized as a COVID(+) dialysis unit. Previously 7T was being utilized in this capacity; however, with only 4 beds and our COVID numbers increasing, a larger space was needed to facilitate the demand. While 7T can still be used as an overflow for this patient population, HOTP/I/R will now be the primary unit for our COVID (+) dialysis patients until our surgeries start back. The central pharmacists will handle order verification for this dialysis unit and their ppm list has been updated.
Remember, 4MST beds 1-4 are starting to double bunk (put two patients in each room) and will appear in Cerner as M001A, M001B, M002A, M002B, etc. Other units are also starting to move to semi-private rooms, so you'll begin to see more A and B rooms on the floor.
Please be sure to pay close attention to name and DOB, rather than a room number when communicating with staff. In terms of a highly reliable organization, this would be a great time for a S.T.A.R. moment to ensure we don't make errors based on any of the unit changes!
Current Unit Changes:
HOTP/I/R (Ortho PACU):
-Phone # 53311
-Order verification responsibilities will be with the t and te
-HH Main Tr t Te PPM adjusted and HH Main T t Q PPM already included
5MST:
-Beds 1547-1550 (ICU)
-UB 2/7 will continue order verification for those beds.
-Z1/AMT will be covering the PKS/NSS consults for 5MST.
3NE:
-COVID (+) beds 329-337
-UB 3/8 will continue order verification for those beds.
-Z2 will continue to cover the PKS/NSS consults for 3NE.
CSSM:
-Beds 1-7 will be a 24/7 CCU (ICU).
-Beds 8-18 will be a 24/7 PCU.
-N2 will pick-up PKS/NSS consults for beds 1-18.
-UB 5/12 will retain order verification responsibilities.
-Beds 19-36 will remain a traditional CSSM.
6MST:
-Beds 1647-1650 (ICU)
-UB1/10 will continue order verification for those beds.
-N1 will now pick-up PKS/NSS consults for beds 1647-1650 (ICU).
PACU (HORR 1-17):
-Phone # 58111
-No change in workflow. The Q's continue to verify PACU orders.
ICU (HORR 18-36):
-Phone # 44805
-UB3/UB8 will pick-up the verification responsibilities for HORR 18-36. PPM adjusted. (note: all HORR orders will show on PPM, just focus on beds 18-36)
-Z2 will pick-up 3NE PKS/NSS consults
-D2 will pick-up HORR 18-36 PKS/NSS consults
