Printing Reports

Reports

(All reports are printed on demand via meditech except interventions)

 

Daily Reports:

  • Antibiotic
    • Review for appropriate dosing according to renal function/indication/weight
  • Renal
    • Also known as “Pepcid” report
    • Change Pepcid to QHS if CrCl<50ml/min
    • Monitor for improvement (may need to increase doses back to BID, or as ordered, if renal function improves >50ml/min)
  • IV to PO
    • Monitor for N/V
    • Order must be at least 24 hours old
    • WBC <10 and afebrile x 24 hours for antibiotics
  • Abnormal Potassium
    • Call RN if any scheduled PO/IV potassium or  potassium containing IV fluids
    • Call RN to prompt electrolyte protocol initiation (if ordered) if level is low
  • Abnormal Labs
    • Evaluate labs as clinically necessary
  • Pending
    • Follow-up with nurse concerning all pending items.  “Cancel” all pending items that have already been resolved.
  • Meds without corresponding labs
    • Review and order labs per P&T protocol
      • Print lab order:
        • Access Magic Screen
          • #180
          • “Routine Standing Orders”
          • “No Specific Physician”
          • “Pharmacy Order”
    • Log all ordered labs on autolab spreadsheet (to be reviewed daily by checker)
  • Entereg
    • Verify bowel movement or flatus with nurse.  Protocol dictates automatic discontinuation after first flatus/bowel movement.

 

Printing Reports

  • Access “Pharmacist Main Menu” in meditech
  • Select #700 “On Demand Daily Reports by Sections”
    • Choose appropriate selection based on assignment
    • For “Print on” type  “S/” before printer name
      • Example: “S/PHAC”
      • Note: May spool multiple reports

 

Active Clinical Interventions

 

Enter a CI for all new Kinetic and Coumadin consults:

    • Access patient
    • Function: CI
      • Function: EN
      • TYPE: KIN or COUCONSULT
      • Status: ACTIVE
      • Staff Type:
        • PHA -> Your ID
        • MD -> Be sure enter mnemonic for consulting MD
      • Drug: Corresponding to consult
      • Severity: M
      • Enter through to file

 

  • To print Active Kinetic consult list:
    • #100 “Custom Reports”
    • # 25 “Active Kinetic Interventions”

 

  • To print Active Coumadin consult list:
    • #100 “Custom Reports”
    • #24 “Active Clinical Interventions”
      • Type: COUCONSULT
      • Include Drug: Y
      • Include Level: Y

Print Canned Labels

  • Used for various technician duties/standard labels

Drug Searches

  • This function can be used to search for specific drug mnemonics
  • #52 “Searches”
    • Profile: DRUG (Remember to adjust specific start and stop dates for search)
    • Selection: DRUG
      • Value: Drug Mneumonic
        • Example: PO Zyvox would be ZYVOXPO
      • Leave Facility Value as “.”
    • F12 to file and run
  • #20 “Print”
    • F9 to lookup and select latest “DRUG” search

 

CRRT

  • Run in AM by checker for active Tridsodium Citrate orders
  • After finding results of report, call RN to verify Citrate rate.  Notify Tim Glascock at Surgery Pharmacy Services of # patients, rates, and # bags in fridge on hand
