It
contains lispro (Humalog) U-10, or aspart (Novolog) U-10

dilution is to be used for patients that require very small doses of
insulin (e.g. infants or very young children)
It is
diluted to make measuring of the dose easier
Insulin
syringes are designated in SYRINGE UNITS.The markings are based on 100
units/mL of insulin, which is the standard concentration of all commercially
available insulin products.
POTENTIAL
FOR ERROR EXISTS.When using
diluted insulin you must ensure that the amount of insulin has been drawn
up to the correct mark on the syringe based on a concentration of 10
units/mL and not 100 units/mL.
Use a
3/10 mL insulin syringe (with ½ unit markings) to draw up the dose
Always
“Round down to the nearest half unit”
Do not
mix diluted insulin with other insulins.
Storage
of diluted insulin:14 days at
room temperature.
