     System Formulary Restriction:

     Use of brivaracetam injection is restricted to patients with refractory status epilepticus who have failed levetiracetam AND 
one of the following:

  • Valproate acid
  • Fosphenytoin/phenytoin
  • Lacosamide

Use of IV formulation is limited to a maximum of 3 days, whereby the patient will transition to enteral formulations
