The goal of the Nexplanon REMS is to mitigate complications due to improper insertion and removal, and includes health care provider, pharmacy and wholesaler-distributor requirements for dispensing. 

There is no need for inpatient pharmacies to register or become certified, only specialty pharmacies and the health care providers managing care of the patient.
