IV Sodium Chloride in concentrations greater than 0.9% is a high risk medication. Double checks for the appropriateness of drug, dose, concentration, and pump setting (if applicable) must be performed

Restrictions for Ordering:

  • GMC Dav and Silvis: Pulmonary/Critical Care and Nephrology. ED ONLY when order by higher level of care (i.e. OSF/UIHC, Nephrologist) prior to transfer
  • GMC Aledo, Dewitt, Jackson: ED ONLY when order by higher level of care (i.e. OSF/UIHC, Nephrologist) prior to transfer
