Therapeutic Interchange Guidelines
All oral potassium supplements, with the exception of potassium citrate and potassium phosphate, will be substituted with potassium chloride to the closest mEq dose.
Vials of potassium chloride contain a concentrated electrolyte which must be diluted prior to administration.
