Nitazoxanide is a RESTRICTED formulary medication. Use is restricted to Cryptosporidium, Giardia, Rotavirus/Norovirus in immunocompromised patients; other parasitic infections as approved by ID. COA pharmacy will only routinely stock the oral suspension, but 500mg tablets will be procured pursuant to active orders at the request of ID. Use requires ID approval and ordering thru OS.
