Intralipid is RESTRICTED to use for Anesthesia Toxicity rescue and when SMOF is contraindicated (e.g. fish allergy).  It may only be ordered by an attending anesthesiologist or with approval from a GI attending. All other Intralipid use is not allowed at Children's Hospital of Alabama.  Order entry is restricted to pharmacists only and Intralipid will only be stocked in select pyxis locations in areas where anesthesia is administered and in the OR pharmacy satellite.
