Optiprio is RESTRICTED to special needs patients who are not candidates for the usual post-op course of antibiotic ear drops. Use is restricted to the operating room or minor procedure rooms in the OR area. This medication will not be routinely stocked by the COA pharmacy, but will be ordered on an as needed basis. Notification of a scheduled procedure must be made 72 hours prior to the procedure to ensure medication is available. All other Optiprio use is not allowed at Children's Hospital of Alabama.
