Situation

The nimodipine oral solution review and formulary standardization was approved at the December 2021 System Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee meeting.

Background

The following medications were reviewed: nimodipine oral solution (extemporaneous and commercial versions)

Assessment/Recommendation

Changes effective: Tuesday, February 8, 2022

System P&T voted to include the following products on the UNC Health Medication Formulary:

• Nimodipine 6 mg/mL (5 mL, 10 mL, 237 mL) oral solution

Note: Stock of these formulary products may vary at individual entities

As a result, the following products will be removed from the UNC Health Medication Formulary

• Nimodipine 30 mg/mL (300 mL) oral solution (extemporaneous)
