Melphalan Flufenamide (Pepaxto) Removal

Situation

Per the December UNC Health System P&T meeting, we will be removing melphalan flufenamide (Pepaxto) injection from the UNC Health System Medication formulary.

Background

In October 2021, melphalan flufenamide (Pepaxto) was voluntarily withdrawn from the US market by the manufacturer. The manufacturer will work with the FDA to continue to make melphalan flufenamide (Pepaxto) available to existing patients who were receiving benefit from therapy.
