Tetracycline Derivatives

Situation

The Tetracycline Derivatives class review and formulary standardization was approved at the June 2021 System Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee meeting.

Background

The following medications were reviewed: eravacycline, omadacycline, tigecycline, sarecycline

Assessment/Recommendations

Changes Effective: Tuesday, August 31, 2021

System P&T voted to include the following products on the UNC Health System Drug Formulary:

  • Eravacycline, powder for reconstitution: 50 mg vial

As a result, the following products will be removed from the inpatient drug formulary:

  • Tigecycline, powder for reconstitution: 50 mg vial
