Isradipine

Situation

Isradipine formulary addition request was approved at the April 2021 System Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee meeting.

Background

The following medications were reviewed: isradipine

 Assessment/Recommendation

Changes effective: Tuesday, June 29, 2021

System P&T voted to include the following products on the UNC Health Medication Formulary:

  • Isradipine 2.5 mg capsule – restricted to pediatric use only
  • Isradipine 1 mg/mL oral suspension (extemporaneously compounded) – restricted to pediatric use only

Note: Stock of these formulary products may vary at individual entities

Non-formulary orders will be converted according to the following therapeutic interchange:

Calcium Channel Blockers, Dihydropyridine

Isradipine capsule, IR

2.5 mg twice daily

5 mg twice daily

10 mg twice daily

Adult Formulary Equivalent Order

Pediatric Equivalent Order

Amlodipine tablet
