Hydroxyurea 100 mg/mL oral solution (Xromi)

Situation: Hydroxyurea 100 mg/mL oral solution (Xromi) was approved for addition to the UNC Health System Formulary at the System Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee meeting.

Background: The following medication was reviewed: hydroxyurea 100 mg/mL oral solution 

Assessment/Recommendation: System P&T voted to include the following product to the UNC Health Medication Formulary with restrictions: hydroxyurea 100 mg/mL (148 mL) oral solution (Xromi) 

• Use is restricted to patients who meet one of the following criteria: 
  • Pediatric patients < 18 years of age 
  • Patients unable to take oral capsules 

Formulary/Epic Changes will Go-Live on Tuesday, June 24th
