System Formulary Update
Fibrinogen Concentration (Fibryga)

Situation: Fibrinogen concentrate injection was approved for addition to the UNC Health System Formulary at the System Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee meeting.

Background: The following medication was reviewed: Fibrinogen concentrate for acquired fibrinogen deficiency

Assessment/Recommendation: System P&T voted to include the following product to the UNC Health Medication Formulary with restrictions: Fibrinogen concentrate 1 g (Fibryga) 

Restricted to: 

  • Use in patients with acquired fibrinogen deficiency 
  • Use in the operative area only 
  • Use in emergent situations. where cryoprecipitate is unable to be acquired in a timely manner 
  • Prepared by Anesthesiology 

Formulary/Epic Changes will Go-Live on Tuesday, April 29th
