System Formulary Update
Omadacycline (Nuzyra®)

Situation:

Omadacycline (Nuzyra) 150 mg tablets and 100 mg powder for injection was approved for addition to the health system formulary at the System Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee meeting.

Background:

The following medication was reviewed: Omadacycline 150 mg tablets or 100 mg powder for injection

Assessment/Recommendations:

System P&T voted to include omadacycline 150 mg tablets or 100 mg powder for injection on the UNC Health Medication Formulary restricted to the following:

• Antimicrobial Stewardship Program or Infectious Diseases Service approval
• Continuation of home therapy OR hypofibrinogenemia with eravacycline use (<200 mg/dL)
