Situation

The injectable HYDROmorphone class review standardization was approved in January 2024.

Background

The following products were reviewed: HYDROmorphone powder for injection, HYDROmorphone solution for injection, HYDROmorphone intravenous (IV) solution

Assessment/Recommendations

System P&T voted to include the following products on the UNC Health System Drug Formulary:

• Commercial:
  • HYDROmorphone 0.2 mg/mL-NS IV solution
  • HYDROmorphone 1 mg/mL-NS IV solution
  • HYDROmorphone 1 mg/mL solution for injection (0.5 mL, 1 mL)
  • HYDROmorphone 2 mg/mL solution for injection (1 mL, 20 mL)
• 503B Products:
  • HYDROmorphone 0.2 mg/mL solution for injection (50 mL)
  • HYDROmorphone 1 mg/mL solution for injection (50 mL)
