Situation:
Cantharidin 0.7% topical solution (Ycanth) 0.45 mL ampule was approved for addition and cantharidin 0.7% topical solution (Leiters) was approved for removal from the health system formulary at the January 2024 System Pharmacy and Therapeutics Commitee meeting
Background:
The following medications were reviewed: Cantharidin 0.7% topical solution
Assessment/Recommendations:
System P&T voted to add the following product from the UNC Health Medication Formulary with restriction to outpatient/clinic use only:
- Cantharidin 0.7% topical solution (Ycanth) 0.45 mL ampule
System P&T voted to remove the following products on the UNC Health Care System Drug Formulary:
- Cantharidin 0.7% topical solution (Leiters)
