System Formulary Update
BoNT-A Standardization

Situation:

The BoNT-A standardization and Epic orders were approved by the System Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee Meeting.

Background:

Formulary changes were approved by System P&T in April, and Epic revisions have been reviewed/approved by various groups including P&T and the Epic Ambulatory Providers Group.

Assessment/Recommendations:

System P&T voted to include the following product from the UNC Health Medication Formulary with restrictions to:

• Outpatient/clinic use only, with co-preferred outpatient options:
  • AbobotulinumtoxinA (Dysport) 300 unit intramuscular solution
  • AbobotulinumtoxinA (Dysport) 500 unit intramuscular solution
• Outpatient/clinic us only (non-preferred outpatient):
  • OnabotulinumtoxinA (Botox) 50 unit intramuscular solution 
  • OnabotulinumtoxinA (Botox) 100 unit solution for injection

System P&T voted to include the following product from the UNC Health Medication Formulary:

• No restrictions, co-preferred outpatient options:
  • IncobotulinumtoxinA (Xeomin) 50 unit intramuscular solution 
  • IncobotulinumtoxinA (Xeomin) 100 unit intramuscular solution
