Situation                  

Phenylephrine 2.5% ophthalmic solution (15-mL bottle) was approved for removal from the UNC Health System Formulary at the System Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee meeting.

Background

The following medication was reviewed: phenylephrine 2.5% ophthalmic solution (15-mL bottle)

Assessment/Recommendations:

System P&T voted to remove the following product from the UNC Health System Medication Formulary:

• Phenylephrine 2.5% ophthalmic solution 15-mL bottle

Note: Phenylephrine 2.5% ophthalmic solution 2 mL bottles are still available on the UNC System Formulary

Formulary/Epic changes will Go-Live on Tuesday, August 15, 2023
