Hepatitis B Vaccine (Adult Formulation) (Engerix-B)

Situation

Hepatitis B Vaccine, Engerix-B, (adult formulation) was approved for addition to the health system formulary at the System Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee meeting. 

Background

The following medication was reviewed: Hepatitis B Vaccine (Engerix-B) 20 mcg/ml Syringe (Adult Formulation) 

Assessment/ Recommendations:

System P&T voted to include the following product on the UNC Health Medication Formulary with RESTRICTION to outpatient/clinic use only in pregnant patients: 

• Hepatitis B Vaccine (Engerix-B) 20 mcg/ml syringe (adult formulation) 

Formulary/Epic Changes will Go-Live on Tuesday, August 15, 2023.
