Situation
The ascorbic acid injection and oral solution formulary standardization was approved by the System Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee in September 2020.

Background
The following medications were reviewed: ascorbic acid injection, ascorbic acid oral solution

Assessment/Recommendation
Changes Effective: Tuesday, November 10, 2020

System P&T voted to include the following products on the UNC Health Medication Formulary: 

• Ascorbic acid oral solution (120 mL)

Note: Stock of these products may vary at individual entities

As a result, the following products will be removed from the UNC Health Medication Formulary: 

• Ascorbic acid injection
