Escitalopram Oral Liquid (1 mg/mL) UD Cup

Situation

Escitalopram oral liquid 1 mg/mL (10 mL) cup is no longer manufactured/marketed in the US.

Background

In 2020, System Formulary P&T Subcommittee and System P&T Committee voted to standardize the selective serotonin 
reuptake inhibitors class, including escitalopram oral solution 1 mg/mL unit dose cup on the UNC Health Medication 
Formulary

Assessment/Recommendation

Change effective: Tuesday, August 16^th       

Escitalopram 1 mg/mL (240 mL) bottle is still available on the US market and on Medical Center formulary

•  REMOVE escitalopram oral solution 1 mg/mL (10 mL) unit dose cup
