System Formulary Update
Lacosamide Oral Solution

Situation

Lacosamide oral solution is now commercially available in unit-dose cups, thus formulary evaluation is needed.

Background

System Formulary P&T Subcommittee and System P&T Committee voted to standardize the anticonvulsants, narrow spectrum class in July 2021. At that time, lacosamide 10 mg/mL oral solution (200 mL) bulk bottle was approved for System Formulary, and there were no commercially available unit-dose sizes available for lacosamide oral solution.

System P&T voted to include the following products on the UNC Health Medication Formulary:
